Bankuna.
Did you know that:
Vankuna (Nguna) refers to people who founded Nkowankowa.
They are a warrior class of Mbai (Mbo) giants who emerged in the east from present-day Kwazulu Natal in Nghome (land of buffalo herds). Their descendants went on to play a pivotal role in the formation of ANC (Hosi Mhlaba), Frelimo (President Samora Machel), Nkowankowa township (Hosi Shilubana), and the reformed SARB (Tito Mboweni). Thus, they are called Ba suka Nguni — people from the west — the Nguni revolts.
