Valenge (Lengi) refers to Bacopi, northern people of the east coast.
They are indigenous people who build Kingdoms on plateaus, in honour of the Supreme God of Heaven, Nungunkulu (Ngungungulu, Nkulunkulu). Thus, they are called Ba nenge wa tilo — people who worship the sky — the warriors of the northern wind.
