This is the summer season, a ceremonial period when Chiefs and Kings are invited to taste the first harvest of summer. This ritual, known as nsunge (ntsungelo), involves monarchs visiting each homestead and spending the night with each clan of their domain. It is a time of bonding, trust-building, and reaffirming the relationship between the Throne and its people. During this season, the community brews traditional beer called vuhimbi (vumhimbi, vumpimbi), fermented from the fruit, which is enjoyed as part of the festivities.
