Machangani (Changana/ Shangane) refers to Langa, Mkhatshwa, Nxumayo etc.

They are originally from present-day eSwatini, but they came to fame when they fled KwaNongoma (South Africa) in the final battle of Shaka Zulu defeating their cousin Ndwandwe and settled in Musapa (Zimbabwe), where they desecrated the Ndau state before joining the Mozambique and Witwatersrand slave trade with the Europeans. Thus, they are called Ba changa vanhupeople who abduct othersthe raiders.
