Who does “Nhalungu” refer to?

Why is “Nhalungu” written in a foreign format?
Long ago, the surname Nyalungu was changed to Nhalungu by the Portuguese. Why? Because their language doesn’t have the “NY” sound found in Xitsonga! Instead, they used “NH” to represent it — and that’s how Nyalungu became Nhalungu in official documents. 🌕
